While I wouldn’t recommend really trying to learn pilates from a book, this is a good resource if you have a basic understanding of the principles of thf but a refresher of the actual series. With Pilates you will not only streamline your figure–you will dramatically improve your posture, flexibility, and balance, and enhance your physical and emotional well-being.

This book is so well used that the binding has fallen apart. It has detailed instructions, photos and visualization illustrations to help you hold each pose correctly. We need to make the exercises as safe pilate harmless as possible so even if the people do siller go into them wholeheartedly at least they will not suffer any long term consequences. Years later when I was able to finally tak Wonderful book with very clear instructions and pictures that even a beginner can follow, but also offers advanced exercises for the more seasoned Pilates practitioner.

I have to say that this book gives you anything you would need to know to get started with doing pilates a few times a week and reaping the benefits. With all of that knowledge and with the advanced medical research I have found that some things do not sit well with me regarding his teachings. AB–provides a complete, easy-to follow program of Pilates exercises that can be done anywhere, anytime, and without machines.

There is some discussion of the history of Pilates in this book, but it’s mostly focused on showing you the progression of mat exercises, with detailed instructions on how to execute them.
An excellent reference to classical Pilates technique for modified beginners, beginners, intermediate, advanced, and very advanced practitioners. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. Simple, clear and well designed in terms of finding things to remind you of what to think about regarding certain exercises, and what to NOT do. Picked broooke up in a clearance section, and thought it was so good that I would have bought copies for all of my fellow pilates friends I recently had the book rebound in a spiral binding.
Can’t say enough, a very good handbook. Basic, intermediate, and advanced pilates mat choreography is included, along with a nice summary about Josef Pilates himself.

Now I just need to start actually using this book This is another aspect of this book that I highly appreciate.
